Lok Kerk Hwang (b. 1973) is an award-winning watercolour artist and a Signature Member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society (PWS). He has been an active member of the Singapore Watercolour Society since 1998, the Singapore Art Society since 2002, the Penang Watercolour Society since 2006, and the Malaysian Watercolour Society since 2014.
With more than two decades of artistic practice, Kerk Hwang has participated extensively in local and international juried exhibitions. His work has been recognised by numerous prestigious competitions worldwide. Notable awards include the Jane Peterson Memorial Award at the Allied Artists of America 103rd Annual Juried Exhibition (2016), the Combined Cash Award #2 at the National Watercolor Society (USA) 95th Annual International Exhibition (2015), and top prizes at exhibitions organised by the Watercolor Art Society–Houston and the Missouri International Annual Open Exhibition.
Kerk Hwang has also been juried into major exhibitions such as the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (UK), the American Watercolor Society, and multiple editions of the Allied Artists of America Annual Exhibition. He has been invited to participate in prominent international watercolour exhibitions across Asia, Europe, and North America.
His works have been featured on the covers of leading European publications The Art of Watercolour and L’Art de l’Aquarelle, and included in the bilingual publication Master of Watercolor: From East to West. Kerk Hwang’s paintings are held in corporate, institutional, and private collections worldwide.
